Mini Countryman facelift spied on Nurburgring

To say that Mini takes its time before revealing the revamped Countryman would be an understatement. It has been over a year since the British brand started sending prototype tests and, of course, our spy photographers saw them while they were doing it.

However, this last observation of the compatriot is different from before. The rival of the Audi Q2 was seen testing at the Nurburgring under the front and rear covers to hide the expected changes to its fascia.

However, camouflage envelopes are a bit useless at this point. The spy photos above reveal the meticulous style changes made, especially in the rear with the now fashionable Union Jack taillights that can be seen on others recent Mini models. A fake mimic and two exhaust tips are in order, while the headlights seem to be up to date, but not too much.

Interior updates are also expected on the Countryman, with a fully digital cluster and a touchscreen center console visible in previous spy images.

The engine options should stay as this is just a facelift, which includes the Three cylinders, 1.5 liters, 136 horsepower, the four cylinder 190 horsepower and the new 2.0 liter 306 horsepower.

As for diesel, it has been reported that a mild hybrid technology is on the table to reduce the average CO2 emissions of the brand's fleet, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Expect more details on the Mini crossover when it debuts, which will be in the coming months.
