Toyota Kirloskar Motor has quietly launched the BS6 version of the Camry sedan on the Indian market. The 2020 Toyota Camry BS6 hybrid sedan is priced at ₹ 37.88 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The new version of the Camry costs ₹ 93,000 more than the BS4 model, which was introduced in the country last year. The sedan is built on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform which also supports the Lexus ES 300h, as well as other modern Toyota cars. The sedan faces rivals like the Skoda Superb, the Volkswagen Passat and the Honda Accord Hybrid.

The 2020 Camry Hybrid sedan continues to receive the brand's new design language, which the company calls design “ Keen Look ''. The new design language gives the sedan a cleaner look and an elegant position. Visually, the overall design of the sedan remains unchanged, characterized by a V-shaped element above the bumper with the company badge. The massive air dam adds an aggressive character to the appearance of the sedan. The sedan is equipped with LED headlamps with LED DRL, stylish LED tail lights, 18-inch alloy wheels and more. The sedan is available in seven exterior colors: the high-end sedan is available in 7 colors: Platinum, Pearl white, Metallic silver, Attitude black, Burning black, Red mica, Phantom brown and Metallic graphite.

Inside the cabin, the sedan features sleek and elegant interiors highlighted by a new Y-style dashboard design with luxurious Onyx trim with a grain finish and metallic texture. It comes with features like the touchscreen infotainment system, three-zone automatic air conditioning, head-up display, touchscreen controls on the rear armrest, adjustable rear seats , the electric rear sunshade, the 8-way power front seats, tilting and sliding of the roof moon and much more. For safety, the sedan is equipped with 9 airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, vehicle stability control, traction control, parking assistance, tire pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX child safety anchors.

Under the hood, the 2020 Camry Hybrid receives an updated fourth generation hybrid powertrain that meets BS6 emission standards. The 2.5 liter hybrid petrol engine is capable of producing 176 hp of peak power at 5700 rpm against a maximum torque of 221 Nm at 3600-5200 rpm. The electric motor generator, on the other hand, can develop 118 HP and 202 Nm of power, bringing the total power to 208 HP. The powertrain is mated to a 6-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT).
