Interior decoration game that allows you to redesign the rooms

I have been playing this game called Redecor for a week. It’s a home design game that isn’t a bad place to start for your interior design skills.

Since MCO, my personal and professional life revolves around my bedroom and living room. The longer I stay at home, the more selective I have to be about what the rooms in my house look like and what I want to change about them.

At the same time, I don’t want to do anything impulsive with real consequences.

My solution to this first world problem? Play a game that will satisfy my cravings and save my wallet.

How it works

Each day there are 2-3 daily interior design challenges that you need to complete in 24 hours. Usually, you have to meet a little requirement, such as: B. a stone table, flower carpet, etc. for these challenges.

Every now and then you will have to face a design duel with another player to see if you can come up with a design better than your own.

You have gold and silver for the decoration that you want to use for the challenges. Typically, if it’s not a Skin Duel, you’ll face 10 other Skins.

You earn money with every design you create, but if you complete a challenge, you’ll be rewarded with gold which you can use to purchase the best designs. Another way to make money is to criticize other players’ designs by voting for the best.

I didn’t think I would get addicted

When I first started I didn’t have high expectations for the game. I have played similar design games in the past and none of them stayed on my home screen for more than a day.

For the most part, this is because many design games have a similar graphic style which is a bit colorful and makes it look like it was aimed at kids.

Redecor, on the other hand, has more realistic graphics, and that caught my eye right away.

Since the game has the element of competition, it also helps me satisfy my competitive nature through carefree challenges.

What I liked about the game

It’s practically impossible to run out of money

I like being able to play for as long as possible without spending on in-app purchases to stay ahead of the crowd.

While there are decorations and materials that I want to unlock in this game, it’s not strictly necessary because at the end of the day if your design catches your criticism, you can still earn and earn rewards.

You will have to spend money in the game to buy decoration, although it is difficult to lose it.

Gold is harder to earn, but doable as long as its design attracts criticism.

Just the right amount of challenges

One of the things I love about this game is how low maintenance it is in my day.

I only log in when I need a break from work to design a part and come back for the next challenge. You won’t even get stuck on the sequel, as a challenge only takes 5 minutes.

In a way, the challenges are enough to refresh me and make me feel satisfied that I did something wanting more the next day.

Pinterest number of

Whenever I think about redecorating my bedroom, my website has always been Pinterest. Sometimes I would go to IKEA to visit some of their showrooms and find inspiration.

After playing Redecor, I doubt I’ll see these two anytime soon.

What a voting process looks like

When you get inspired by Pinterest and IKEA, you’re usually inspired by what’s already in front of your screen. When playing this game I can mix and match endless design options for a room without being limited by influence.

It’s almost like a playground for me to bring my personality and preferences into a room, since I have that amount of “money” to experiment with all kinds of designs.

What I didn’t like about the game

I can’t be my best designer

Although earning money and gold is easy in this game, you are still connected to the stars in one way or another. The stars allow you to unlock various decorations which you can purchase with your gold and silver.

So even though I have a lot of gold and money to waste, my lack of stars sometimes prevents me from unlocking more decorations.

Winning a contest is the only way to earn more stars after making purchases through the app. At the moment, I only have 8 wins out of 61 designs, so you can see how slow it is for me to unlock all the coolest sets.

This is where the game gets boring because I felt like I was shooting myself at first, but now it’s close to a dead end.

To be fair, the game is ad-free, so I have to focus more on in-app purchases.

There is no way you can spend that much to unlock items. So I probably only have 8 wins out of 61 designs

Challenge requirements

Most of the challenges have requirements such as the materials they want to use, the type of wallpaper they expect, the mood they are looking for, etc. Sometimes you don’t even have access to decorations other than customer options.

As someone who doesn’t like bohemianism, flowers, and vibrant designs, I fear these challenges whenever I have to.

Also, since I don’t have enough stars, I can’t unlock the entire options section of my client. Sometimes I only have 3 out of 15 models.

Suggestions for improvement

Despite the limitations associated with this game, I generally enjoy playing it because the challenges are so great for someone who is not an avid gamer like me.

However, if these limitations continue to bother me more than I love the game, I would probably quit because who likes to stall in a game?

Rather than allowing players to go head-to-head early, giving them high expectations, and limiting their progress later, it would be better if the game had better control over progress.

One way to do this could be to include more challenge types than the 2 they currently have, which could help players develop better and find the game interesting.
