The country declared an epidemic on March 12 and began easing the blockade on April 20. So far, it has reported 1,464 cases of coronavirus and 103 deaths from the disease.

With the official end of the epidemic, some measures will expire at the end of May. Public transport resumed this week, while schools, bars, restaurants and small hotels with 30 rooms will reopen next week.

The government has also announced that people arriving in Slovenia from other European Union states will no longer have to undergo a 7-day quarantine. A quarantine of 14 days is maintained for people from non-EU member states. Foreign citizens with symptoms of coronavirus will not be able to enter the country.
