Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the fourth installment in the Call of Duty series developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. This PC version of the first-person shooter runs on Windows and Mac OS X devices. Call of Duty 4 maintains the theme of war, but in a different period. The plot of COD 4 takes place in 2011, when a president from the Middle East is executed by a radical leader. At the same time, an ultra-nationalist movement is fueling a civil war in Russia. You play as a solo player or as a group. The multiplayer campaign features various game modes and a level system that makes the gameplay more challenging and competitive.

Gameplay

The main feature of Call of Duty 4 is that it has technologically advanced equipment for more players. Groups can play as teams or in deathmatch. Each player can call in drones for reconnaissance, airstrikes, and attack helicopters to gain an advantage over their opponents. The game ends when a team or player reaches a predetermined number of points or the allotted time expires.

In case of a tie, the Sudden Death mode is activated. This means that the team in which the last person stands or reaches the goal of the first wins. Each player’s performance in multiplayer is tracked using experience points. They can be earned by destroying opposing players, completing missions or objectives. As you gain XP, you will be able to level up, which in turn unlocks new weapons, perks, challenges, and game modes. Call of Duty 4 for PC limits the level you can reach, which is level 55.

The single player campaigns are more focused on explaining COD 4’s story rather than leveling up your skill. You will take on the role of six different characters during the civil war. The story begins in Russia, when its government and a group of ultra-nationalists plan to return the country to the Soviet Union. At the same time, a separatist group is taking over an oil-rich country in the Middle East. You will then be assigned a number of missions, but note that they are not relevant to the campaign story.

For a group of players, COD 4 offers many opportunities to compete against each other and earn the best weapons. On the other hand, the single player game offers a deep storyline that you can follow and interact with. Overall, this is a suitable game for fans of the Call of Duty series and first-person shooters as it offers a completely new storyline and game mechanics.
