Caffeine – stay awake is a simple browser plug-in that keeps your computer awake in case you don’t need it to hibernate or go into sleep mode. By using this simple plug-in, you can avoid reconfiguring power settings in Windows.

There are several situations where you may want your PC to stay awake. For example, when you’re downloading and don’t want your network connection to be interrupted, or when you’re giving a presentation and you know you probably won’t be able to touch the mouse for an extended period of time. Caffeine has two available modes – Stay awake. First, Display mode prevents a monitor connected to your computer from running a screensaver or dimming. Another mode, called “System,” extends the restrictions, preventing the entire operating system from going into power-saving mode.

There are no other settings to configure, so using Caffeine – Keep Awake is very simple. You can pin to the toolbar so that the icon is always visible and set the active mode with a few clicks.
