Modular installation

With the latest update to iCUE, we’ve changed how iCUE is installed and updated. With iCUE’s new modular infrastructure, it will no longer consist of a single large package. Instead, users will download a very small installer that upon launch will uninstall the existing version of iCUE and automatically download and install the necessary modules.

To address iCUE’s large footprint (3+ GB), we’ve simplified the experience by installing only what’s needed to support your product. For example, if iCUE detects only the K100 RGB Air Wireless Keyboard, the software will download only two modules: iCUE Core and the K100 RGB Air Wireless Module.

As a result, iCUE will no longer require hosted files to support products you don’t currently own, and now takes up only a fraction of the hard drive space compared to previous versions.

If you add more iCUE products to your setup in the future, iCUE will automatically detect them and install the additional modules required to fully support them. Users can also select and install specific third-party plug-ins from partners who share our ecosystem.

With this update, iCUE will no longer require a complete uninstall and installation of the software. Instead, you will only be prompted to update if your module changes or if you have a new product supported by iCUE.

We believe this change to iCUE will make our platform flexible and efficient as we continue to improve the software’s capabilities and make your experience a memorable one.

Software enhancements:

– Fixed an issue where firmware cannot be updated on some devices on iCUE macOS
– Implemented some minor font-related design enhancements and used more toggles where appropriate
– Exported system logs will now contain information about installed modules and packages
– Fixed some text overflow issues in various languages ​​in iCUE
– iCUE will now continue downloading new modules after resolving issues with lost internet connections
– “Hide chart” now works for sensor widgets
– Zoom in/out now works properly for murals
– Mural’s “Set to original size” feature will no longer cause the spin button to display the wrong icon
– Addresses an issue that could cause iCUE to lose connection with a Philips Hue hub
– Resolved various crash issues reported by end users – Thank you for continuing to submit crash logs for review

HID product enhancements:

– Improved the firmware update process for K70 CORE, which could lead to an unresponsive state in rare cases
– Changing the K70 CORE polling rate will no longer cause iCUE to crash
– Launch application key assignment now works correctly when assigned to a key on the K100 RGB
– Resolved various issues with K70 MAX related to drive presets and auxiliary assignments
– iCUE will no longer crash when waking from sleep if VIRTUOSO XT is connected in wireless mode
– Resolved an issue with iCUE NEXUS preventing G key assignment from triggering
– Resolved an issue with iCUE NEXUS that prevented widget background images from being applied correctly

DIY product enhancements:

– Solved the problem that DRAM cannot be displayed as a configurable device after iCUE is installed
– Improved notifications related to iCUE LINK System Hub and its overcurrent protection warning
– Implemented profile import and export enhancements for all iCUE LINK devices to improve the experience of sharing lighting customizations
– Resolved some calculation issues causing incorrect DDR5 Profile Manager related values
– XD5 Elite’s frame rate slider is now available in device settings

To install this package, do the following:

– Save all work in progress and close open applications.
– Notes on .ZIP archives: Unzip the file and change into the newly created directory.
