can be used for almost anything

When you start the application for the first time, you can choose to use the sample wallet. This gives you an overview of how Wallet is used, but the possibilities are endless thanks to its fully customizable categories and fields.

You can add, delete or rename any category, and entries have fully configurable fields and field types. This flexibility makes the app an option worth considering compared to more modern-looking alternatives.

Works great as a password manager

While it can be used for anything, storing passwords is of interest to many users. Adding accounts is fairly easy, and you can even use a password generator to make your accounts more difficult to break into.

Autofill is a popular password manager feature, and Wallet also includes it, though it’s more limited than some competitors offer. To autofill, you have to click on a URL in the app, which will take you to the page in your preferred browser. There is no direct access to this functionality from the browser.

Appearance can be improved

My first impression was that the app looked a bit dated. This is especially evident when looking at icons, data entry fields, and the cards themselves. The data entry sidebar also doesn’t seem to have proper dark mode support, the white border is still visible.

Overall, Wallet can be a great alternative to more popular password managers, especially if you want to get rid of subscriptions. It scored top marks for customization, but fell short for looks and some features. Unless you need additional customization, I still recommend a free option like BitWarden.
