It has become commonplace to use cloud storage services to make our data accessible from anywhere, protect data from hardware failures, and bypass local space limitations. However, accessing all of our accounts individually can be cumbersome.

NetDrive is designed to simplify this task by showing them as volumes on your Mac and allowing you to browse their contents using the Finder.

A technical preview that gives you an in-depth look at the functionality of the app

The first thing to mention is that this version of NetDrive is not a stable release. Therefore, some errors are to be expected.

It’s worth noting that we were unable to connect to a Dropbox account during our testing. While Google Drive and Google Cloud Storage do not have such issues, users may experience issues with other services.

Provides support for multiple types of remote storage platforms

NetDrive supports a wide range of cloud storage services, including Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Amazon Cloud Drive, as well as FTP, WebDAV, and NAS servers.

Once connected to a server or cloud storage account, it will appear as a volume on your desktop, enabling you to browse its contents like any other external drive.

Additionally, new files can be uploaded and the progress of each transfer can be tracked by placing them in the specified volume.

Access your cloud storage anytime from your desktop

Once the application is opened, NetDrive can connect to certain remote locations. You can always access your cloud storage if the app is also launched at login.

Temporary copies of remote files are stored on the local drive to slow down access, and you can specify how much space each volume should allocate.

All in all, NetDrive is a very useful application that makes the task of managing multiple cloud storage services and remote servers much simpler. The app still needs further refinement, but this tech preview allows you to test its functionality and see if it’s the right solution for your needs.
