New features in transcription! 9.10.0:
- Various improvements, including the first native version of the Apple Silicon M1 Mac.
- Mac: We now have a native version for Apple Silicon (M1 processor) machines, which means you must choose the correct version. In fact, the Intel version can also run on Apple Silicon machines, but it is clear that the Apple Silicon version can achieve better performance. In addition, we now include GStreamer as part of Transcribe! mac download. This has the advantage of convenience and avoids confusion about which GStreamer version to use and which Transcribe! version. The only drawback is the larger downloads: 50 MB (Intel) or 43 MB (Apple Silicon).
- According to popular requirements, you can now have any speed button you want (range from 5% to 200%) in the upper toolbar. Please refer to Preferences-Toolbar to learn how.
- The CPU usage during playback is now reduced, but you can further reduce the CPU usage by selecting “Reduce CPU” in Preferences-General. This will not affect the audio or video, it will only reduce the frame rate of the screen redraw, which means that the scrolling of the waveform or the movement of the playback position indicator will not be smooth. This is helpful if you are using a battery-powered laptop or want to stop the fan operation.
