Ya battery is a gadget designed for Apple users to work with battery-dependent devices such as MacBook Pro or Air models. This utility is located in the status bar and provides information about battery level and other details.

Monitor battery status and know how much time is left

Once launched, YaBattery analyzes your battery level and determines how long you can use your computer without plugging it in. The application will display this value in its status bar icon along with a graphical representation of the battery load.

Unfortunately, during our testing we were unable to determine whether the YaBattery app updated this value in real time. Even if the battery load drops in time, the initial evaluation remains the same. However, this may be due to limitations of the demo version.

In the YaBattery status bar menu, you can view the current battery level, the power your computer is using, and the remaining battery runtime.

Quickly access extensive details about battery status and performance

The same area helps you open the Energy Saver panel from System Preferences, and you can choose to add the utility to the list of applications that launch at login.

In addition, YaBattery contains information about the original and current battery capacity and allows you to view the design cycle and battery duty cycle counter values.

Wider details include current battery charge and voltage, temperature, manufacturing date and health. You can also see if the battery is currently charging.

A low-profile solution to monitor your Mac’s battery status

Best of all, if you want an approximation of the current battery load and the time remaining without charging, you can always rely on the built-in OS X tools.

On the other hand, if you want seamless access to wider details such as battery capacity, cycle count, manufacturing date or health status, the YaBattery app is an alternative solution.
