With the official end of the Taysom Hill TE era before week 12, some normalcy has returned to the tight final position. Ahead of Week 13, it looks pretty solid with some high volume emerging targets, and our TE PPR fantasy week 13 ranking is stronger than it has been in some time thanks to these top options.
Despite an unusually late week off that knocked Rob Gronkowski off this week’s rankings and Mark Andrews made the COVID list, there is still good depth. That’s partly thanks to Zach Ertz’s long-awaited return from an ankle injury, but in PPR formats it has more to do with some TEs getting more targets.
STANDARD EVALUATIONS FOR WEEK 13:
Marshal | Run | Wide receiver | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker
As a rule, the TE position is highly dependent on TD. This is how Jonnu Smith produced value last month or so despite averaging less than two receptions per game. That has been true for most of this year, but a handful of guys have consistent passing opportunities. Heading into Week 12, 16 players in position have averaged at least five goals per game and nine have seen at least six per game. These highly targeted threats will certainly move up the PPR rankings.
WEEK 13 PPR RATINGS:
Marshal | Run | Wide receiver | D / ST | Kicker
In particular, Evan Engram (@ Seahawks), Hunter Henry (vs. Patriots) and TJ Hockenson (@ Bears) will be on the rise. Everyone has seen at least six targets per game and should have a higher story in the PPR leagues. They may all be in for some tough clashes, but if they keep getting goals they should be the Top 10 Producers.
As for declining players, Jared Cook (@ Falcons) has a favorable showdown, but has averaged less than four goals per game this season. Mike Gesicki (against the Bengals) and Jonnu Smith (against the Browns) also fell a bit as they haven’t seen targets consistently all season. They are in good games and have a lot of touchdowns, but it’s hardly a guarantee that they will produce.
