Google Chrome extensions are extremely useful for providing a variety of functions in the browser. When we install multiple extensions, an icon like a puzzle piece is displayed in the top bar. Google initially added this icon to Chrome as an experiment, but later made it permanent to improve extension handling. The Chrome extension icon is useful for hiding and showing an individual extension and for accessing other functions related to the extension.
While the icon is sometimes useful, it can be a problem for others as well, especially if all the extension icons are already displayed on the Chrome toolbar.

Hide extension icon in Google Chrome
Follow these steps on your Windows computer:
1]Look for the Chrome shortcut icon on the taskbar, start menu, or desktop.
2]Right click the icon and select properties from the menu.
3]Open the properties and in the destination field add the following parameters, without quotes and with the space character.
–disable-features = ExtensionsToolbarMenu
4]The target should now look like this: “C: Program Files (x86) Google Chrome Application chrome.exe” –disable-features = ExtensionsToolbarMenu
5]Click OK to save the new destination settings.
6]Now open Google Chrome and the extension icon will no longer be displayed.
Also, you can restore the Chrome extension icon at any time by removing the above mentioned setting from the destination field.
