Demon’s Souls almost had an easy mode on PS5

Demon’s Souls on PS5 Almost Comes With Easy Mode, but developer Bluepoint ultimately decided to leave it out of the game.

According to a new report from El Washington Post, Bluepoint Creative Director Gavin Moore thought about adding an easy mode Demonic souls during development, but the idea was shelved before the game was finally released.

“This project does the work of another development team,” Moore explains in the interview. “While we’ve made some changes, our main mantra has always been to preserve the spirit and intent of the original creators.

“By thinking and discussing in a simple way, we finally decided that it was not our place, just to be the stewards of this amazing game, to add something that would fundamentally upset its balance.”

The only thing the team seems to have added as a completely new feature is the mysterious door that no one can enter yet.

In the past, there have been arguments over difficulty and accessibility, with some players arguing that easy modes should be included in more difficult games so as not to alienate players. While Demon’s Souls ships without any modified difficulty settings, Bluepoint has come a long way when it comes to other accessibility options.

“We’ve included an option to change the audio from stereo to mono, with an additional option to play the sound left or right,” Moore told the Washington Post. “For those with a color vision deficit, we’ve added the ability to change the user interface palette. Some gamers are sensitive to certain types of screen movement, so we’ve included a switch for motion blur and camera shake.

Additionally, Moore notes that the PS5’s DualSense controller has been used well for gamers looking for new ways to tackle the game’s infamous difficulty curve, recalling that the title’s haptic feedback and settings Adaptive wake-up can also be disabled. .
