Your PS5 DualSense controller is essentially a Dualshock 4 on Steam now

the The PS5’s DualSense controller is now on par with the DualShock 4 in terms of Steam support.

Valve has released a new update that brings more support for the DualSense controller functions. The new patch, available in beta now, follows last week’s update, which provided preliminary support for the controller.

Once you’ve installed the beta client (or after it’s enabled for everyone), Steam will be able to recognize DualSense LED lights, trackpad, rumble, and even its gyro features, which is great news for the players.

You will also be able to slide your finger in different directions on the touchpad, which is best used with the gyroscope. Of course, the elephant in the room is the revolutionary haptic trigger and response engine of the controller, which has yet to receive official PC support.

Sony has never released any official drivers for the DualShock 4, so there is little chance that the platform owner will develop one for the DualSense. We may have to wait for modders to find a way to translate these features to PC. Even then, games will have to take this into account and enable these more advanced features on the PC.

For now, you can argue that the DualSense is just a nicer DualShock 4.
