The new spy photos of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé show it in the & # 39; Ring

We've just released two new videos showing the hotter BMW M4 and M440i Coupes attacking the Nürburgring, and we expect BMW to reveal the redesigned 4 Series starting next month. But this is just the start. After the presentation of the coupes and convertibles to the press and the public, we will see the most practical version arrive: the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé. The first time we saw the Gran Coupe Series 4 was in September and, unfortunately, the latest photos don't reveal much more than what we have already seen.

New entrances still have the BMW covered in camouflage with a little lining in the front, hiding the large kidney grille that we know to be there. It looks a lot like the BMW i4 as both will be mounted on BMW's CLAR modular architecture. The style should be similar to that of the two-hinged door versions, although elongated to accommodate the two additional doors and additional legroom.

Inside, it will share an interior with the 3 Series, and that is probably not the only thing shared between the two. The 4 Series Gran Coupé will also plunder the 3 Series for a range of powertrains. One rumor that simply won't die is that BMW will also launch an M4 Gran Coupé, which could find the 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine turbocharged under the hood, producing at least 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts).

Although the 4 Series Gran Coupé looks ready for production, we probably won't see it for several months. We're supposed to see the two-door Series 4 next month, although it's not clear if the coronavirus pandemic threw a key into BMW's release schedule, the company hasn't said. . Even then, we don't expect the new 4 Series Gran Coupé to arrive before 2021. The prospect of an M4 Gran Coupé excites us, although the all-electric i4 also looks attractive.
