Is LastPass still free?

Yes, you can get LastPass and use it indefinitely to store an unlimited number of passwords in your encrypted, secure vault. This free plan is full of features, but it limits users to a single device type: PC or mobile. LastPass Premium costs $3 per month, removes device type restrictions, and includes additional features such as 1GB of file storage and dark web monitoring.

How safe is Lastpass?

LastPass uses 256-bit AES encryption to lock your vault, and a master password is required to decrypt the data. All information stored in the cloud is sent encrypted in advance. Two-factor authentication is also offered as an optional security measure.

What are good LastPass alternatives?

We’ve recommended LastP ass as a top password manager for a long time, but the new limitations on the free version may be enough to make you look elsewhere. Bitwarden is a solid free and open source alternative. If you’re willing to pay for a password manager, LastPass is pretty good, but you might as well go for 1Password or Dashlane, which add a VPN as part of the package.

• Changes were implemented to provide expired LastPass Families users (ie now LastPass Free users) an offer via in-Vault messages to purchase LastPass Premium or renew their expired LastPass Families subscription. • Fixed an issue that caused multiple instances of the LastPass In-Field and/or Generate Password icons to appear in the username and password fields respectively on various login pages.
• Fixed an issue where the LastPass browser extension would incorrectly fill in the current website password in the first field provided (eg, the “Old Password” field was expected, but only the “New Password” and “Confirm New Password” fields would appear) when users would attempt to change the account password for certain websites.
• All LastPass Business accounts now include a Families as a Benefit offer, which is a free LastPass Families account given to each employee that includes five (5) additional individual LastPass licenses. • If desired, employees can choose to link their personal LastPass Families account to their company’s LastPass Business account, which allows them to keep Vault entries in one place while both accounts remain separate.
